Be honest, how much difference to a non competitor does enclosure make?

I have a 12 inch RE XXX sub in a 1 cube sealed enclosure i bought from a local electronics store. It sounds pretty **** loud on some songs, but not really insane (I am running a eD nine.1 to it). If i were to put it in a bigger ported enclosure, would i really hear and feel a noticeable difference everytime i use it, or would it be very slight?

Enclosure is just as important as the sub itself. Possibly moreso......

Heh, how sweet would it be for someone to win a SQ comp with Dual subs because their enclosure was like, Godly.

ive heard cheap speakers sound good in a well designed, implemented, and built enclosure.

so a speaker like the XXX - you are giving yourself a huge hindrance with such a small sealed enclosure unless you are making up for it in the wattage department.
