When my uncle took his wife down to Cancun for their honeymoon his paypal account was hacked with his credit card information. He lost all the money in both accounts and paypal refused to reimburse the money until they had conducted a 6 week investigation. We ended up wiring him some money so he was able to atleast come back home and salvage some funds. I agree, paypal sucks ass.
Yea exactly what the article said. . . Minecraft literally exploded over night. if I ran a company similar to paypal and saw a small indy game company go from making a few hundred to 600k I would freeze the account too. and within a couple of days the account was un frozen and pay pal being the big bad corporation that they are didnt take his money

Defend them all you want. Again, IDGAF but I guarantee if they freeze your acct with your money in it for 6+ months you will change your tune.
Lets take another scenario into account. You sell a high dollar item for 2000.00 and the buyer opens a dispute saying its not as described and escalates it to the point where paypal puts a hold on 2 grand of your money and tells them to ship it back. This buyer sends you a box of garbage but keeps what he bought. Guess what happens?. Tracking shows you got the package and he gets his money back. Doesnt matter that it was just random junk. You get NOTHING and he gets the item and YOUR money and there isnt shit you can do about it. Sounds like a great company though right?.

You could do that but if the cc company fails to get them to give the refund then theres nothing you can do. Its happened to many people. As for alternatives there is a few just not as well known. Nothing comes without risk when buying online but paypal is just too great of a risk. Ill stick to using money orders or other means. Also risky but ill be damned if I let a company like paypal make another cent off me.

I had them freeze/lock my account once it took a couple hours to get it straight but I spoke with a rep and in clear english none the less, they gave me a full reason for why it had occured and it made perfect sense and I'm glad they locked it, yea it wasn't the most fun to straighten out but they did it to prevent theft and the two times I've had people make false claims on ebay with purchases paypal sided with me! so in the end I don't think as long as your doing everything by the books you will ever have any real issues.

Oh well, I more than compensated for any inconvenience by lowering the price drastically. Im actually still selling the ppi and it doesnt matter to me either way. If it sells then great, if not then eventually a local buyer will come along. Doesnt bother me in the least.

why would you keep that much in your paypal lol. retards. i have been using paypal for about 11 years or so...never had an issue but they have helped me out on a few occasions. paid over 600 on an amp once to get it and it had bad parts. opened dispute and guy fought me on it but i won. if i had not used paypal i very likely would not of got my money back. it was an os us amps 200hc which was the early version of the vlx400. im sure some people on here remember this.
