I have never used or even seen one, but my question is...

Are they beneficial in a daily driven 1800-2400 watt system? My understanding is they are a stand alone unit that draws its current from the alternator, not off the starting battery. Essentially it is a quick discharge battery. Is this correct?

Ok, so I was correct? With one of these as a second battery, would you use an isolator? Would it be a better option for a daily driver system over let's say a 300 amp alternator and a 2nd Kinetic battery?

shouldn't mix batteries if possible ,but the answer to your question is yes and no isolator unless you wanna play your system with the car off and not have to worry about it starting

I run 4 batcaps in my explorer. I like them, but they discharge very quickly. You will need a proper charging system or else you'll have to charge them all the time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I'm using a batcap2k for my starter batt on my pathfinder and have had 0 issues. Hell I can even play my setup full tilt with the car off and the battery will drop down to 11.1v from 12.0v resting (aq2200 @ 1 ohm)

I guess I'm a baby. I can leave my radio playing for about 8 hours (not full tilt) and then the voltage goes down to about 12.2-12.3.

The batcaps will drop down to 12.4 or so after a burp, let them sit for 30 mins and they'll be back up around 12.7-12.8.

I wanted to pick up some more datasafes from Ryan for the back but considering my voltage doesn't budge as long as I'm driving around I didn't feel it was necessary, plus the fact that I'm not gonna be adding anymore power to this vehicle (I'm going for straight up efficiency now)

That's no fair, I don't even charge at 14v //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
