I'm not looking to get flamed nor am I actually going out to buy a batcap, I just want to know whether or not they are worth using if you are on a budget.

Pros and cons welcome! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The batcap Power Pack is a fine piece of equipment, it's basically a amp shell with a batcap 800 battery and a 35 farad cap in it.

I would get one in a heart beat. But probably after I bought a battery or two.

Batcap is a great brand man. No flame from me.

a batcap is more like a battery .....i would use a batcap before i would buy a capacitor ( i would never use a cap)....every little bit helps if you dont have the budget to upgrade your electrical.....

Close a Batcap is a battery that can discharge almost as fast a capacitor.

The Batcap Powerpack contains a Batcap 600 not a Batcap 800 and 35 Farad cap.

Batcap products discharge faster then conventional batteries and all of the Kinetik batteries. The Batcap 2000 is better then all of the Kinetik battery products.-Ray Mckenzie

If you have any specific question about any of the products shoot me a pm or post on here, I would be glad to help.

From what I understand about batteries that if you use small batteries that have less lead in them on a bigger system draw, you are cycling the smaller battery more than you would be the larger battery with more lead. The more you deep cycle a battery the more the lead gets depleted from the plates. What might be grand for a magic 4 seconds in the lanes might not hold up as well as a larger battery year after year of daily or competition use.

x2 @ bold.

I'd get a Batcap before I'd get a YT. But that's me. Batcaps are the ideal caps IMO. They store a lot, and can discharge fast.

No, it is just a battery, as others have said. There are NO CAPS in a Batcap. Just an AGM battery. NOTHing more, nothing less.

Any good AGM battery will help out any audio system.

I ask because I was going to have 2 120amp alts in my car and was thinking maybe a batcap would be better then extra batteries overall (weightIf you have dual 120a alts, how many watts RMS are you running? If you are running that type of alts, then you probably need much more than one small Batcap.

Are Batcaps flooded or AGM?That's a good find

Lol, this thing is massive http://www.batterymart.com/p-12v-225ah-sealed-lead-acid-gel-battery.html
They are all AGM.

Gel-Cel = FTL

Yeah that is a big *****. I run 4 of the above with a kinetik 1800 in the trunk, for a total of 5 batteries and an Optima up front. MA HK 4000d at full tilt does not drop below 14v;)
If it does not drop below 14v, you are running 100% off your alt. Your batteries are there for nothing more than starting your car.

From what I understand about batteries that if you use small batteries that have less lead in them on a bigger system draw, you are cycling the smaller battery more than you would be the larger battery with more lead. That is true about using too small of batteries. Usually, any thick plate AGM should hold up for at least 500 deep cycles. The thinner plate models (Optima) will not be able to do so. The thinner the plates, the shorter the lifespan. However, thinner plates are what give you higher amperage outputs. So you have a trade-off there.

Hummm did anyone check out the other batteries they have for sale. Looks good for the prices. I wounder how well built they are. Even have gel cell batts and AGM ones too.
Like I said above, Gel-Cel=FTL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I love how people just throw these quotes around like the mean something. Could you please reply back with what your (or Ray's) quantification of "better" means? I would really like to know.
