anyways he won 1st place in Superstreet 1,2 no wallwith the 60hz to 40hz sweep...

I did some playing with Termpro and it showed a nice peak

at 64hz so we did a sweep from 70hz to 60hz...

the output was definatly higher...all he needed was a higher

frequency...no matter he took home the 1st place trophy....

there is another comp coming up in August and we will

have some mic time before then...get some new numbers

from the higher frequencies

don't you tune it so he peaks at his resonant freq.? 60-70 seems kinda high for a neon. what db did he hit to get first?

this is my first crack at SPL...I have built lots of SQ and daily driver

boxes but now it's time to open a new can of worms.....

I got a Termlab coming so I'll be able to do proper testing

with designs I make myself and learn from trial and error

I'm kind of enjoying this,,,it's something new for me

but thanx for the offer

i have always had best results tuning my box so it peaks at the res. frq....yeah higher is generally louder, but my car is loudest at at it's res. freq.

I was asked to build this box to Bassworx specks

the only diff is I went with a slot port over the 4" abs tubbing

I may build another one to my own and see the diff....

the 1.0cf3 per sub seems a bit small to me

and I'm gonna try exterior ports so I can play

with the tunning with out altering the inner cf3

it turns out there is a problem with the amp install....

the car was in Kamloops last night getting metered on

a Termlab..they switched enclosures and the DB's were

Identical between the two and the amp was cutting out

the sweet spot was 47hz

everything is getting looked over and there is a comp

on Sunday...will have some new numbers when it is over

i dont remember much from the comp being that i had only got 2 hours of sleep this morning(there was a huge party/festiva on the way there we were at the two days before) but anyhow i think he was against my buddy who i came up with. in ss 1-2. the neon was doing 144's or something. and of my buddys daily system was doing 150ish to music. we figured out what the color of the car is btw...its called "tub girl" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif :laugh:

I think he was doing 146 point something on the last comp....

but that was with his old box...he had to fix his grounds

and redid all his power wiring

we are going to stick the other box back in for the next comp

and see how it does with the system wiring problem solved....

You know if the port was on the passenger side I bet it would be louder by a couple decibels

Very nice box btw! I would love to do a spl setup like that in my car but I would feel sorry for it:crap:
