its a gain control.

if you set your amps gain right you dont NEED that remote.

i have one on my amp, but i set my gain right and i dont touch my remote.

you can use one if you like, but you asked if its needed. and i say no its not needed.

some people use them some dont.

no matter what, you need to set your amp gain right. if not you will clip and blow stuff up.

does not work that way.

you have to use what the amp says to use. if you dont you can and will fry your amp.

Bass remotes have there uses IF you set them at max before you set the gain.

Uses are you can turn the bass down if needed to level out or you just want to.

If you compete you can use the knob to roll up the volume
