How much voltage should I have for a mono 1000 watt (actual 1128) into a 4 ohm load (measures 3.6)?

I calculated around 62-64, but only get 20....

Suggestions?

Turn the volume up on the deck higher and the gain on the amp higher till you hit your match of around 62-63 ish.

But i doubt that amp will fully put out the 1k. Id put it at about 900w

Just post the model of the amp, it might only be like a 400w amp. And that makes sense considering monoblocks really drop off in power at 4 ohm..

If possible try to run in 1 ohm (assuming you have a single 2 ohm sub)

Alpine PDX 1.1000.........actual test values 4 ohm load, 14.4 volts, RMS output=1102 watts...........................

It is rated at 4 ohms, but is supposed to output the same at 2 as well.

Got it figured out....................

WOW!

It hits SO HARD!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

There was an issue with the sub output..............at the 0 (no boost level) it was puting out lower preout voltage. I switched it to one of the full range outputs and it went right up to 60 volts...........I actually turned it down some!

The EPIC-160 does wonders!

Maybe voltage loss? I always set my LFP to 80 and on steeper slope with no noticeable SPL loss. Playing a sine wave is a lot easier on your...
