kicker 1500.1 why. when. plug in my bass knob I lose 50%of my bass. .I unplug it and wow what a difference gain on the amp is bouts 1/4 way up...and also amp will clip out when bass knob is unhooked. .I'm lost never done this until I hooked up these new sundowns. ..0 guage wire 1800 kinetik battery 2 farad cap.. any ideas or help. ..

what is yourt setting on the amp, and knob? the bass knob generally works one of 2 ways. either it overrides the amp gain, or, more commonly, it operates within the gain you set on the amp. for instance, you set the gain on the amp for max of what it will ever run, and you use the knob to turn it down within that range. it should do one of those 2, so, if the knob is turned down from full, you should see a drop in gain/output....

set your gain on the amp wherever you want it with the knob unplugged, turn the knob all the way up and then plug it in, if you lose power then something is wrong with the knob. amp clips out with knob unplugged? that shouldn't have anything to do with the knob, that could be a amp problem, wire problem, signal problem, etc.
