Bass knob questions

I have a Aq/sq hdc3 12 running on a twisted sounds 1.3kw. Set at 3/4 gain 35 subsonic and around 90 high pass. Bass boost on amp at a 1/4. Is it ok to use the bass knob safely as I've heard not to use it. If I don't it doesn't sound good though. I'm a newbie so any help on my amp settings would be nice. My box is 2.5 cu ft @ 34 hz

then you have it tuned improperly. everyone here runs bass boost off.

do some research on setting the gain properly and you wont burn up your sub or amp with clipped signal.

Idk what else could be not set right on the amp. If I have the bass off even at around 1100 watts it is barely moving the sub. My voltage never drops below 13. All my wiring is soldered and grounded good. Why is that wattage not hardly doing anything without the bass boost on? Turn it even a quarter the way and it warps my glass! I just don't want to blow my sub. Amp doesn't even get warm

if its a bass boost knob dont use it, if it isn't then you will max it out before setting your gain - this means it doesnt boost the signal it cuts it any time its not at max.

you'll need to set your gain so it isnt clipping, without an oscope or clamp meter to know your actual box rise its best to just set it by ear until it stops getting louder.

its much better to use the gain to set the loudness than bass boost. if your headunit has weak pre out voltage it will require the gain to be set higher. gain is not volume, gain is a ratio between input and output signal.

The amp will get louder even farther up than I have it. I didn't put in the hu but it's a new higher end pioneer. I put in the amp. My sub just acts like it needs the bass boost to move. Could the rca's be switched or does that matter?

I had an audio place put in the system then later I just replaced the amp with a better one. I replaced everything the way they had it but I couldn't remember which rca went where. They aren't labeled. One is black one is grey. Maybe it doesn't matter...idk

What he means by "it stops getting louder" is you play music you normally listen to then turn your volume on the hu up to about 3/4 of the way then turn the gain up till it stops getting louder.
