Bass fades out and in

today i found out that the terminal on the box was melted from the wires and that ,where they cut the insulation off the speaker cable the cut the wire and the ground and power cable could touch so i think these might be my reasons why, now i just need to find out how to set my gains with a dmm because the gain set thread isnt much help

ya its all fixed now i bought a new terminal and just cut the insalation back a little farther and put electrical tape on it,its the wire inside the box im talking about.

Do you know how to set the gains with a dmm, and if so can you tell me how?

Oh great...rip it all out but the wiring from the battery to the amp...re wire everything and MAKE SURE, that means quadruple check the wiring. Especially from the amp to the box, and inside the box. THEN come back and tell go from there. Get an Ohm meter, and make sure the independence is correct.

I WIN!

how do you get the voltage when you want to set your gains,i know with the formula but how do you do it with the formula,i just dont understand it.My amp rms is 750 and my sub rms is 750, what else do i need to know?

nvm the above post i set my gains this morning the knob is about halfway, and it seems to be working good, i put the voltage at about 38.7 which is what its supposed to be at i guess.
