Ive been having a problem with my system it a kicker zx750.1 amp and a kiker 12' l7 sub, what it does is when the volume is low or high it will fade down not always to were you cant here it, but then it will fade back up and i can smell it which makes me think its clipping.Ive tried setting the amp,ive had circutcity try to set the amp,and ive had an actual shop try and set the amp.Ive blown the sub twice and keep getting it replaced im not sure what could be the problem i also got another amp,but thats not the problem. If you have any ideas on how to help please tell me.

Thanks

Low voltage. Like your sig says...everything is stock but the huge electrical strain you added with that amp. Get a bigger battery, bigger wiring, and possibly bigger alternator.

turn the system off and check resistance.....

if you are not below the amp's operating resistance, then the gain may not be set correctly. another option is that your ground may not be sufficient or the wire sizes may not be large enough

i don't think it's low voltage, i've seen people run 1500+ on stock blazer electric & it not drop that bad.

definitely could be something else, bad ground, bad rca connection.. something.

Bad ground and bad rca connection aren't gonna cause the sub to blow...low voltage + clipping definitely will...it will also cause the bass to fade... I'd definitely pull out the multimeter and check the resistance on your ground, and also check the voltage on your amp when it starts to fade.

He doesn't say anything about the sub blowing in his post.

He's also saying it fades at low & high volume, so unless his electrical is failing, I don't think it's voltage.

its blown two subs and they both did the same thing before last time it blew the sub i got them to replace my amp also and its still doing the same thing.I know the ground is good and the wire is 4 gauge it was a tsunami kit i bought at circut city, that should be big enough to run the 750 watts rms.The rca cables are some really cheap ones if that would have anything to do with it.

Thanks

Oh great...rip it all out but the wiring from the battery to the amp...re wire everything and MAKE SURE, that means quadruple check the wiring. Especially from the amp to the box, and inside the box. THEN come back and tell go from there. Get an Ohm meter, and make sure the independence is correct.
