Bass EQ Knob Question

I have a bass eq remote knob for my hifonics bx1800d mono amp. I currently have the bass eq set at 0db on my amp. Is this knob worth hooking up? It allows control from 0db to 18db. I already have my amp eq'd the way I want it, but what kind of sound could I expect by turning this up?

My suggestion would be deposit it directly in the trash or the junk drawer. Assuming that you have the gain correctly set with the boost at 0 dialing in 18dB of boost is asking the amp to produce 64x the power that it currently is. At anything but the lowest volumes, you are talking about major clipping and kissing either the sub(s), amp or both bye-bye.
