why is that in some songs such as "late night tip" my bass hits very hard and other rap songs like "thug love" it doesnt hit that hard at all......

iv noticed that on some songs i love he way my bass sounds but on others i dont get the bass that i desire.... i only really listen to rap so it seems to me tht my subs should be hitting pretty well on all songs but i find they dont get near as loud as others.

i know that some songs are made with less bass then others but it confuses me when i can hardly notice any deep bass at all when i listen to Thug Love where as in late night tip my hears start to vibrate bc the bass is so low/loud

thug love doesnt really have that many hard bass notes......mostly mid bass and comp sound not much sub bass...but yea could be ur box?....turn up ur amp if its not up high enough also////

i think it may just be some songs.. i get plenty of mid bass and highs with the song just not enough low bass... i can tell there is some though... i guess its just not ment to hit that hard... i dont think its my box... iv been told my box is perfect for my subs

some songs are compressed really bad into mp3 or what not and lose alot

i can get a song off napster, and download the same one off limewire or whichever and the napster will sound better alot of times

that may be the problem too... i mostly make mp3 cds so i can have like 100+ tracks to listen too... ill try puttin in my cds and see if i can see a change

Quality of the recording and quality of the rip (for mp3s) has a huge effect on how it sounds. Way too many recordings are crap nowadays IMO. If they are produced for radio, which most are, there is very little attention paid to low frequency information because it will get lost in tranmission anyway.

i was listening to the downloaded version of lay low, then i listened to the actual store bought cd with it on it, the cd was much crisper and cleaner as expected, but the downloaded version hit harder and lower because the bass was muddy and not as clean.

true on both counts, but you also gotta remember...how is the box tuned?

if its prefab, or tuned at 40 + its not gonna attak the low bass notes worth a **** anyway

yep if its tuned above 45 you'll start sacrificing DB's for low end output linearity....tis the price you pay for SPL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
