Bass cutting out

So I got my new subs in the other day and installed into my car but for some reason I lose bass in the middle of listening to music. It's weird because everything will be working fine and then all of the sudden the bass shuts off and I do not know why. Does anyone know what would cause this? I've had my system in for a little over two years and I live in South Florida where its pretty hot and humid but do not know if that can kill wires or anything. help! thanks

I set my gains with a dmm so it should be somewhat accurate and the speakers aren't bogging or anything. I'm running a mtx 600 rms mono amp. It does get a little hot but I have been running this amp for about two years with no problems until my last subs crapped out and I had it checked out for any problems and they said it was working fine.

I don't think its going into protect mode because when I talked to a mtx customer serice rep he said the light is always on red, which it is. when you say bad electrical, what part do you mean?

You said you set your gains with a DMM. Did you increase the bass boost/subwoofer on your headunit after?
nope, kept all the settings the same as when I tuned it with the dmm. It's weird because it will be playing fine one minute then the subs will just cut off. then if I like restart the track and change it will start to hit again.

sorry I don't know alot about this stuff, low voltage? where would that be coming from? a problem with my rca or remote? and is there a way to check if my ground wire is good other than replacing it?

low voltage as in the battery is low.. where is your amp ground connected at the moment?

yeah sanded it down and everything, I'm running a 4 gauge wire for both. I've run the same setup for about 2 years with no problem which is why i'm kind of confused why its doing this to me now. the ground has been in the same place and everything else also.
