bass cuts out

I have a rockforf fosgate r250 amp powering 2 -12in custom built subs honestly not to sure of the specs but this setup has worked pretty great and slammed pretty hard in my custom ported enclosure but now the bass only hits lightly for a split second and shuts back off I thought maybe my rca's got pinched or the speaker wire might be bad but I messed around with it and still the samethe amp doesn't shut off or go into protection mode but the amp power light dims a bit when the short little bump of bass comes on. Any ideas what this could be? thanks

Maybe a bad ground?

I messed with the ground plus usually it will work normal the first five mins of driving. Won't the amp power light go off if the ground losses connection?

Not if its just a weak connection, you can have enough of a ground to operate the amp light but not enough of a ground to power the amp and sub under a load.

Sounds like a bad ground. Even though the ground seems good if you don't have a solid connection on bare metel (scrape The paint and primer off then make the ground) the light will dim when the amp tries to draw current. Also take a multi meter and check your DC voltage to your power wire using the ground from the amp. That will narrow it down for you.

Ok my amp is installed under the front passenger seat of my crown vic the ground goes some where into the floor under the rug same as all the rest of the wires I actually found the wires there like a week after purchasing my car and hooked up my amp and surprisingly they all worked looks like it was professionaly done.

If you are 100% sure its not the ground the only other thing I can think of is somtimes you can have a bad fuse holder under the hood. I have seen this a few times where a customer buys a cheap fuse holder from wally world, usually scoche product, and on one side of the fuse block you are not getting a full connection.
