bass boost

hey only knew to this forum site, and amatuer at electronics, and not sure if there is any other threads on this topic.. sorry if ther is...

anyway i have a 10" woofer and amp all in one box setup and i was lookin for more bass from it, could i add or make a bass boost setup to the amp.. or is there a difference between a 10"woofer and 10" sub which means the sub gives me more bass, whats the difference?

No, there is nothing you can simply "add" to that to make it any better. You'd be wasting your time and effort.

Before you start flamed, here's a quick lesson in loudspeaker terminology. The word woofer in a casual sense usually refers to a speaker that's playing in the lower frequency range, such as 80-1000hz - a speaker playing in this range is mostly called a midbass (no longer just "woofer"). A subwoofer is a speaker that's playing frequencies lower than what a woofer (midbass) would be playing; usually 80hz and lower (subbass frequencies). In this sense, the two have completely different purposes, and shouldn't be used interchangeably. A midbass and a subwoofer can come in any range of sizes, so do not let this fool you into thinking they are easily interchangeable. However, a midbass CAN play into the subbass region, and vice versa, but like previously said, each prefers to play in its target range.
