Some people are so ignorant with this. They warn you not to use it when they know not how it works.
Using the remote bass link on the Directed or Viper amps, you are instructed to set your gains, raise the bass boost on the amp to half way (or the right under the level where distortion comes into play), then plug in the remote.
When you have the remote @ full min, it is just like having your amp set at 0 gain and half bass boost, when you turn the remote knob half way, it is like having your gains half way (half of what you have already set it at) with half bass boost,
When you have the knob all the way up, it is like having your gains where you set them at and the bass boost half way up. If you were to unplug your remote, this is how it would be the whole time, with the remote in, you can control your gain from a distance. But even with the remote turned all the way up, the input sensitivity will never surpass that which it is set at on the amp.
Like I said earlier, if you set them correctly, you will have nothing to worry about, and also, if you do set it correctly and notice distortion or mechanical distress, then back off of it a little bit.
