Basic head unit wiring question

I just bought a Kenwood DPX501BT stereo for my 2003 Explorer XLT. The vehicle currently has just the factory tape deck and 4 speakers; no extras like the subwoofer or DVD system.

The Kenwood's wiring harness has the red ignition, the yellow battery, the black ground, and wires for each speaker.

The Metra vehicle harness I got with it has all the same wires plus an orange Illumination wire.

Since the Kenwood harness lacks the orange wire, do I even use that off the vehicle harness? Or does it get spliced into another wire, like the red?

Thanks in advance!

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
