Bartender's??? Anyone??

I was a bartender for awhile, no longer do it because I hated getting out at 4 in the morning on weekends. I would recommend not going to the bartending schools. When people would apply that went to bartending schools, the bar manager didn't even call them back. There is no shortcut for experience. If you don't have any experience, a lot of places will start you off as a server or possibly a bar back. I'd say do it if bartending is really want you want to do. I honestly just hated getting off of work so late. Other than that, it was a blast.

you will learn more on the job than you will in school
if you aren't a smoker and havent ruined your lungs already stick to part time cause 40 hours+ a week in a smoke filled bar is definately gonna give you problems

if it werent for smoking i would be a bartender, it is easy money and you get paid to drink

i just quit smokeing. and yes it will be part time. i work from 10 am till 6pm everyday. so im looking to be a bartender or anything part time from 8pm till at least 2-3am

and this is UTAH last call is like 12:30!! haha

i just quit smokeing. and yes it will be part time. i work from 10 am till 6pm everyday. so im looking to be a bartender or anything part time from 8pm till at least 2-3amand this is UTAH last call is like 12:30!! haha

cleanup takes a while, then you have to count your registers, divy up tips, etc. etc. going to take atleast an hour.

Definitely. We closed at 3 and sometimes I wouldn't get out until 4:30 - 4:45

i hate that shit. im a barback, learnin all the drinks and whatnot. i hate it when poeple sit around. last call is at 1:45..and people sit at the bar sipping there beers till like 2:30 sometimes finally you just have to be like look get the fuck out. i get so pissed off sometimes..but its all good.
