Bartender's??? Anyone??

All I know is I would do the school just to say I have experience

I could give less of a shit what it teaches lol as long as it gets me a job.

plus u realllllllly learn ALL ur drinks

yea.... there is a place around here like that (school) and they give you placement allso... just really dont have the money to do so..

there is a bar about 500-800 ft away from the front door to my apartment... im gunna go over there tonight and get an app..

if u can get a job there go for it...

me personally i would go for private events such as receptions parties etc., you really can make a killing. ie. 50-100 an hour

this bar career place has a deal where you pay 98.00. they send you an booklet and exam. as long as you pass it with a 75% or more. you are garenteed 90% job placement in my area....

kinda thinking about doing that........

i take it you havent been to bar tending school.....the club i work at actually suggests you don't go to bar tending school....but thats also cause all we have is like canned beer, shots, and a few mixed drinks
I took a one night class that was for people who entertain a lot. The instructor of it who has been a bar tender at vrious types of bars for 16 years said the same thing. Bartending school is a scam.

a lot of places around here don't want you to have school first. i was looking into being a bartender during the summer last summer while i was laid off, and was going to go to school, but a lot of places wanted you to learn their way, instead of coming in and already knowing how to do it 'the wrong way' in their eyes.

Its called "experience" or credibility. When someone asks what experience you have... would you rather say "Oh, well I went to bartending school" or "Oh, i'm an alcoholic, I already know how to make all these drinks"?
Well someones gonna be funny and say the second one, but you KNOW the first one is far more professional, and far more likely for someone to hire you vs. someone else who might not know their stuff. And 2 weeks of school is NOTHING.
So the only way you can learn to bartend is by becoming an alcoholic? I would much rather hear someone learned the ropes through experience rather than having to goto some SCHOOL to figure out very simple, rudimentary things.

If someone would've put that on the resume for the last club i worked in, we wouldn't have even bothered looking at the rest of the application.

im gunna run around and fill out app's. hopefully somebody will hire me..
kinda getting tierd of getting of of work and sitting on the couch..

it's a nice chillaxin spot bro, big fat leather couch, 48'' flatscreen with 7.1 surround.

haha im just getting tierd of the same thing everyday... i guess... not just sitting on the couch... that's nice..

you will learn more on the job than you will in school

if you aren't a smoker and havent ruined your lungs already stick to part time cause 40 hours+ a week in a smoke filled bar is definately gonna give you problems

if it werent for smoking i would be a bartender, it is easy money and you get paid to drink:)
