alright guys, so as of right now, i have built my own first box, (deisgn by IONSQL, thanks again chris //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif) and it sounds great, but i am looking to change it up a little and go for sumthing a little different, a banpass, for those of you who know what your talking about can u describe the advantages and disadvantages of having a banpass...thanks

Look at my ava thats a bandpass. 5 chamber 4th order. Played deep and loud not much on the top end though. But it wasent suppose to. Within the passband they play loud.

they can be loud within their passband, but outside of that they dont do much, they sound a little different. Kinda mor smoother, atleast the one i have heard. They dont have the actual punch seems like to me. They are about twice as big as a normal sealed or vented box. I prefer them myself, I like the sound. I listen to alot of rap. They just sound smoother to me

well my brother has a bandpass with crap subs, and i have a sealed box with two decent subs and his badpass blows mine away, as far as bass goes he rattles the whole house with it hooked up to his home stereo, mine give off a better kick but the bass isnt half as powerful

seriously the house shakes, and my subs are higher RMS cost more and everything, so the right box definetly makes a difference

i made an 80 designed bp box for my dad. Its perfect for what he wants which is mostly classic rock and motown.
