In the video, it appears that the officer is ordering a group of teens to stop skateboarding (which is banned at the Inner Harbor). When the 14 year-old resists, the officer puts him in a headlock and berates him for being disrespectful.

At one point, the officer asks the teen: “Are you from the County or something?” He then proceeds with this zinger: “Obviously, your parents don’t put a foot in your butt quite enough, because you don’t understand the meaning of respect.”

edit: heres the video

****ing ops strike again. Baltimore city cops are the worst. I got pulled over all the time there, they like to harass people constantly. It's what they do.

I think he did a fine job. The little shit does need to learn respect.
I agree, this was all over the radio this morning. I am sure all the bleeding heart ACLU types will come out of the wood work and try to get a long time vet. police officer fired etc.

He did go a little strong on the kid, but if the kid was not breaking the law.....

Exactly. If you keep playing the odds on breaking the law, eventually you get the one who takes his job a bit more seriously. I have no sympathy for this shit.

typical a**hole that was that fat kid in school and had no friends hiding behind a badge and a gun. takes a BIG man to throw a skinny little 14 year old around.

kids parents need to take the dept and the cop to court for some major $$$$

would love to have heard that idle threat about the camera being on at the end.

I agree, I work within walking distance to where this took place - skaters have total disregard to pedestrians and besides you are not allowed to board at the Inner Harbor. I think this is a major problem with kids these days - they don't know they meaning of respect and they think everyone owes them something. Maybe if they did get their a$$ beat at home they would learn the respect at least that is how I learned it:rolleyes:

Wow did he hurt the kid no, if this was 20 years ago it wouldent be that big of a deal. The parents need to teach that little shit some manners.

I'd like to see the parents pound some common sense and mannerisms into the kid.
Would have never gotten to a cops overreaction had the kid been proper.
unless there was a lot missing the kid wasnt being that disrespectful. im 26 and would have reacted the same way if some cop jumped my *** over nothing.

hell the kids were sitting around they were riding at least not in the vid doesnt mean they werent before of course.

if there is more missing than what was shown then the cop wasnt 100% out of line but no way he needed to put his hands on the kid.

to throw the kid down that way though the cop should be suspended without pay and terminated for abuse of power

but yes it wouldnt hurt for mom and dad to step up so the kid learns most cops are pieces of sh*t on a power trip because they feel they are over the law

There is a growing problem with increased policing of the police. Which, from working in Baltimore, I have seen it only hinders them and costs the tax payers more money while crime and murder are still on the rise. But the same people here worried about supporting the kid who broke the law, are the same ones that voted for the Mayor to be promoted to Gov here in MD. We are now all paying serverly higher taxes and higher BGE bills, with more taxes proposed with no end in site. Put it this way, if I did not work in Baltimore, we would move to Delaware (including SSA as a business) because the Gov. and Mayor are out of control. They are on the Clinton plan.

/rant that went a little off the rails...
