balance question on my HU

i noticed today that when i set my balance on my HU all the way to the right, the subs turn off. when its at 0 or anything past 0 to the left, they work, but not on the right side. why is this?

what do you mean? my last setup didnt do this. when i used a single maw12, it played on 0, and L and R. now i got 2 12" kicker comps.

Try a y-splitter so the sub amp gets 2 inputs.

If you're using a 2-channel amp, and running it bridged, it may only be using the left channel input for its signal source. Very many 2-channel amps work this way.

Your RCA's are hooked up incorrectly.

One possibly came undone, at the amp or more than likely behind the HU.

i actually just took my HU out to recheck all wiring. i do this every now and then. theyre secure. ill switch the ones around on my amp and see if this fixes anything. if it does, then thats all it was? which should mean my bass output should increase as well, correct?

yea, im getting there to. which is why im asking so many questions tonight. i love car audio.. love messing with it, installing shit, taking amps, subs apart... i just love the whole aspect of it. its a major hobby of mine, just now getting into it hardcore. i want to know as much as i can so i can help friends who need real help.
