i posted this to think maybe some of you would under stand that some people shouldnt work on cars/trucks or just about anything ...if you cant tightin something like a spark plug and then wonder why the car has miss fires ..i have no idea who did it the owner we got it from or someone they had work on it but i know some where someone replaced one valve cover gasket and the spark plugs ...some one was working on the car that mad more problems then what ever they were fixing

how am i bashing something someone else did ...i was fixing the problems the car had...ie no reverse,no forward ,7 ***** codes= bad tranns 3 missfires = bad spark somewhere but was 3 not even hand tight spark plugs ... oil leaks front and rear vavle covers ..lose bolts and one good gasket

also its a v6 so the park plugs are not the easy to replace

On those V6's you really should have done the plugs with the motor out, as now you can only reach the back three plugs by removing the EFI manifold.

i also thought you could drop the front k memeber like alot of other cars but you cant asked alot of mitsu guys and they said it easyer to pull the motor with the ***** since there the engine bay gives you so little room to unbolt the torque converter ...plus like i have said b4 i have to clean 10 years of oil and mud from the engine and fix other items other wise impossable with the motor in like the power stering pump had leak had to replace the belts and had to change the back cat and since the japs are so smart they made the cat and manafold one piece ..and just geting the ***** back on the engine out of the car was a nightmare now just think in the car

like i have stated the transmission needed to be checked b4 i did anything else ..i wanted to do everything else while it was out ...but well they got the ***** b4 i had the old one out the car ..and then when i got it out ..and when the car 1st quit driving i wanted to get the car readdy motor and ***** out and have it readdy but at that time they wanted someone else to do they car cause at the time i was working and the other person didnt want to do all the other stuffwe wanted like clean the engine bay and wire brush the engine just spray some degreaser and wash..i would have never started this thread if whoever would have checked their work . i check every bolt tomake sure its to the right foot pounds or inch ...oh and somethng i also forgot was on the a/c comp one of the connectors had the wire with the pin comeout so they siliconed it back in and this is the reason the a/s would work some days and not the others

we got a hanes manal for it but ill get that to thanks

also we have only had this car for 2-3 years so there is no telling who or what tryed to fix what ...there is just some stuff that i cant see how anyone could or would let someone drive

7-9 hours to pull and replace transmission depending if its a automatic or 5 speed.

vs.

17 to pull and replace a motor.

I would have just pulled the *****. if I were you.

Not sure if you actually were doing this at a shop or not but having a lift makes life so much easier.

The Haynes manual is worthless from my experience.

I own a 2001 Eclipse, and the photos and cutaway drawings in the Haynes manual that includes my car are for the older version, which is a totally different car and shouldnt have been in the same manual.

well 4 one the ***** was used from a wrecking yard and only had a 90day on it so if i did all the other work then i wouldnt have been able to see if the ***** was even any good . better to check why the motor runs ..and also in a front wheel drive car its easyer to pull the motor and ***** as one piece there is no room in the engine bay to do so ...so you pull it in one piece
plus i said that we wanted to clean the motor and replace the stuff that is impossable with the motor in and fixing a valve cover leak is just was easy in and out of the car but i allreaddy said why i had to put it back together

and for grammer well if you online for grammer your on the wrong fourm ... i didnt sign up for grammer classes to enjoy car audio
