I wasnt referring to the exact lights that light up but just that it lights up red due to power issues. It won't get the 3 lights if it's a power issue. The 3 lights=hardware failure.
Yes, the towel trick does work, temporarily- it worked for me for about a day.
Xbox will warranty the RROD for 3 years from purchase...
Ive read of problems with the power supplies failing and sending too much power to the unit causing it to fail.....I try to leave mine unplugged if possible just in caseI feel like if the issue is shitty cooling and the xbox finally gives out and dies on a hardware level the issue is probably that the CPU is damaged and needs to be replaced?
I guess that doesn't explain the fact that OVERHEATING the whole system somehow allows it to work again..........I wonder if that's because there is a sensor that measures the temp of the CPU vs. the ambient temp?
Good luck playin on Xbox-Live //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gifMy xbox was bought as a arcade model & it had the Falcon board in it, and then I just added the 120g hard drive and stuff to it, plus had it modded so I could play "my" backup copies...I also upgraded my PC with the correct DVD writers and all I needed to make my own copys..
you dont need the receipt. xbox knows when and where it was bought when the SN was scanned when you purchased it. go to the website and register it. itll tell you if its still under warranty. it will be but it will at least tell you how much longer.is there a way to fix or rebuild without sending it off to xbox cause i dont think i still have th reciept
you dont need to buy any new parts... just a few screws, bolts, washers, some new thermal paste, and some patienceis there a way i can fix this though? like buy a new part or somthing
