Bag it if you want to have a project and if you will utilize the air ride setup. Otherwise lowering it will be much more cost effective.

The difference in enjoyment between a bagged vehicle and a static drop vehicle is quite large. If you can afford bagging it and are capable of doing it well (or know someone who is), then I absolutely recommend bagging it.

id just do a nice 3/4 or maybe even a 4/5 static drop, depending on what size wheels you're wanting to run

Bigger static drops (like 4/5) are the absolute worst on S10's, in my opinion. The ride is extremely uncomfortable, you scrape everywhere, and it is hard to tuck much rim comfortably.

ive just known a couple people that have airbags and in their cases, they've been very unreliable. leaky/blown lines, bad bags, etc etc

I remember when Centerline had those Smoothies on sale for a ridiculously low price...it was like $200 for a 20" wheel...lots of people grabbed them up then. With the right truck, they can look pretty good.
