Bad sound when subs face towards me?

When I have my subs (2 10' kicker l7's) facing towards me, aka front of the car... it sounds bad, its almost like u can hear the subs pushing in and out, is it suppose to sound like this? I know some ppl have their subs like that so it confuses me? could the reason for the awful sound be because I dont have the box seperated? its all one shared chamber, theres no splitter between the 2 subs... helpppp please:crying:

is the box ported or sealed? When i had my ford explorer, i always found that the subs facing the rear was better overall.

The box is sealed.. I had them facing the back in my car but we are putting them in my friends Dodge Stealth and if u know what car that is. you can really put these subs in there, they have the sit on his back seat pretty much, and it sounded HORRIBLE with the subs facing us. the box i made myself and its one sahred chamber, instead of serperated. and there are air leaks all over. I dont know if this could be why

usually, facing them torwards the trunk (away from you) in a sedan will yield better sq with all around lower frequency extension.

Mine are facing me, so if I turned them to face the back it will sound better? mine is a sedan

Almost 90% of the time, rear/up firing is the best option. Front firing only works good when it's sealed from the rear of the vehicle.

Normally as close to the rear as possible.
