Bad Eclipse CD5030, possibly?

Hey guys, I just got a CD5030. I'm also new to this website. Hi!

Anyway, just installed it and I get the strangest thing. ITS LOUD. As in, the unit itself. I'm posting here to find out if this is normal. No, not the music. Even with the faceplate completely off it makes a high pitched noise about the same decibel of say a cd spinning in a computer cd rom drive. Not noticable when the car is running or with music playing, but certainly loud enough to notice it when im in my garage installing it!

Anyone else verify this? Bad unit?

the sound is not normal. Are you running external amplifiers?
