ill try and fix this after work and read replys when i get home. im getting very bad alt whine, i put a new amp on my components. i ran the wires on the opposite side of my RCA's and power. could this be a problem? didnt think it would be... but its bad alt whine. u cant hear it after its up about half way, but its loud and distorts the **** out of my sound... any ideas?

Try revving the engine, this should make the sound quicken its pace. it would be like when you hear a rice burner go 90 down a street when you rev your engine. also try listenting to it with the car off, you may need to wait a few minutes for it to go away if it still persiets. i had this same problem recently and it was two 45 degree angle rcas that had 2 get moved to my HU. easy 2 fix problem but annoying as hell.

why does this thread come up everyday?? its a **** sticky...SEARCH SEARCH SEARCh ****
well cuz i posted it at 6am. i hadnt even listened to it yet because i got done so late last night, so i went out to my car to check it out before i took a shower and i heard it. came on and posted. didnt even bother to look at any stickies, i was half asleep. i wanted to ask my question and be done. but i fixed it. it was my RCA's. for some reason when i put in my new RCA's i ran them with the power wire. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

signal and power leads should be away from eachother. some pioneer hu's need the rcas to be rounded. try running rcas outside. or you might have a ground loop. how many ground points do you have and is it sanded down cleaned and bolted on right. also check your ground point with a dmm

i got it... my front output was yeilding alt noise. i switched it to rear output, now its fine. ill wait and see if i get any alt noise from my sub output when i get an amp for my woofers. if i do, ill just jump the rca's and use the rear output for both my comps and subs.
