backup file hosting?? 10+ GB range ...

Archiving is a must if you have a lot of data, you never know when something might go wrong with your HD. Although doing it with CD's almost defeats the purpose, especially with how cheap you can get the material for DVD's now.

indeed, again, just burn everything on discs, again it's a hassle, but it's the best thing to do, i have at least..., 76 DVD-R's worth of data from bacling up files, movies, mp3's, ****, everything i even have stuff from elementary chool on 3.5"s, lol.

e.g.- A month ago my laptop suddenly shat on me while I was listening to music on it. Turns out the HD failed which was apperantly a common problem with my model. $300-$1700 (BS quote) to recover the information. Thousands of pictures lost, hundreds of movies and so much shit that was important, and I never backed it up on disk. Did the desktop but never thought to do the laptop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Your upstream speed would have to be screamin' fast to make uploading 15GB a feasible option. Let's say your broadband has a 128kbps upstream. It would take approximately 279.62 hours to upload 15GB.

Best options would be archive to DVD, add a second hard drive to store data, or use an external drive for your backup.

I am lazy, so I just bought a crapload of Hard Drives and made a file server with A RAID 5 array. It's not as fullproof as backing to optical, but it's pretty reliable and a lot more convenient.
