backlight to dim

i have a pioneer DEH-P4900IB and the back light is way to dim how can i fix that.

When the deck turns on hold down the source button. A menu will come up and scroll over until it gets to brightness. Then raise the brightness level.

I'll check next time I get in my car. Might have left something out.
