I've never used a backup camera but decided I would give it a shot. I've spent 50+ hours installing my system and deadening and for some reason the only place I'm stuck is the camera. I have a Kenwood 8120 and a random chinese camera.
The camera works because I can manually switch to the camera on my Kenwood but I can't get it to kick in when in reverse. I set it up so that the camera would always be on when the car is on. The reverse wire on the head unit is wired to the reverse lights. I checked with a multimeter and 12v+ is going through the wire to the head unit.
What more is required to make it automatically switch to the camera when in reverse? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? Thanks!
