Ok I'm a little ticked off...

I sent my Panasonic CQ-C8300 in for service of the pre-outs. Buddy just called me a few min ago for me to come and pick it up. So I asked if they found the problem, he tells me there is no problem... WTF!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

I have no idea what the problem is !!!

I get hardly and sound on my subs. its like I have a 10watt amp pushing my two 10" ?!?!? When I was testing it before, I had it on the SW-out and was getting notta. When I switched to the Pre-out rear, I was getting a higher volume, but not as near as what I should. I re-did my ground wire and got rid of the 10guage and put in an 8. I sanded a lip in my trunk that an existing ground is located, I just added another hole for my amp ground. My amp turns on with no problems, But I get no bass from my subs. They worked fine with my other car, just the RCA, HU and power cable are different.

I'm at a loss, I have no idea what to do!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif suggestions ??? please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Might have the subs + and - hooked up backwards.

Is your gain set?

Does your HU have an amp setting, it might be on a low setting?

R your Rca's hooked up backwards?

Hmm, don't know man, doesn't sound like a power or ground or Rca issue.

What kind of amp and ssubs do you have?

Make sure the subs are connected correctly (polarity) like he said check the gain on the amp the sub level on the HU.....I can't imagine its a ground cabel thing!

System specs...

HU: Panasonic CQ-C8300 50x4

Amp: Rockford Fosgate Power 200 (1999 Version) 1 ch mono amp.

Speakers: 2x Rockford Fostgate Punch 10"

maybe my amp is taost ?????

I checked the wiring for the subs at least 6-7 times. Even took my box appart to make sure everything is good. Gains are up all ther way they can. The HU has a Sub volume control and I made sure it was up all the way.

RCAs are hooked up correctly...

But why would i get a higher volume when I hook it up to "Pre-out rear " Man so frustrating !!!

hmmm.

the sw-out is sending your amp only the low inputs, it would still be loud though, it just means that the HU can control the amp.

When you connect them to the Rear outs or even front outs you are still sending your amp low inputs, but the HU is no longer controlling the amp, you HU is sending whatever signal your rear speakers are getting, Such as if you fade to the front speakers, then your amp wont get a signal ect.

Hmm, so was it ever loud?

or did it just stop wrking one day.

I say connect you amp to another speaker, and see how it plays.

maybe your subs are blown, just an idea.

yeah they worked perfect in the fall of last year in the Protege I had...

all i did was take the stuff out and it sat in my house till a few weeks ago.

But I could check with another speaker I guess.

I'm more worried about the amp being taost....

Yeah I guess I have to test something.

Just the HU is different from before. This is why I thought it was the HU and not the setup. and the higher volume when I switched the pre-out made me think it was the HU.

I’m not familiar with your deck, but check to see if your deck has sub level controls, and if it does make sure it’s turned on. My Alpine has a sub level control that goes from 0-15, make sure yours is not set to 0. If you think it’s your amp go to Circuit City and buy another amp to test with, they have the “no hassle” 30 return policy so you’ll get your $$$ same day. Keep swapping stuff out until you find the cause. I think it’s your H/U, there must be a sub level control that’s not on or set high enough. Good luck!

Great news guys !!!!

On my lunch I went to pick up my deck from Panasonic ... 10min from work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was messing around with the cables and a guy I work with offered a hand. Well this guys fixed my problem in under 10min. My RCA cables are the culprit.... It appears the right channel is shorting out and the amp was protecting itself from shorting. We unplugged the right channel and bingo bango it started hitting that oh sweet bass I have missed so much!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif So for the time being i'm going to use a splitter to route to the amp using the one channel, since it is a mono block to begin with. Then when I have some time on my hands, I’ll pick up a good set of cables and rewire my RCAs.

Thank you all for the great help!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
