AVIC N2 installation

Hey, I have a AVIC-N2 head unit, but I dont have the hideaway box... I've heard that the box only is used for the navigation... I don't need the navigation I just want the touchscreen dvd player... I heard this is possible, but I want to make sure because I don't see how that would be possible....

Nope. It's the brains. There are outputs that come out for a few things. I never tried it, but I can almost guarentee it won't work.
