most HUs do too, but for sq purposes, a better one is usually needed. esp from an mp3 player with maybe 1v output
hm...didn't consider the output voltage of the player....yes to the driver + eqmost HUs do too, but for sq purposes, a better one is usually needed. esp from an mp3 player with maybe 1v output
get the rsd's...they are highly rated around hereim thinkin MP3 to EQ to amp. if I absolutely NEED a line driver, ill get it later. i am ordering some either kicker or diamond comps, i know they are not the greatest as they are low level comps, but i just need some music in the truck, and a kicker 200.2
why would the other not work?Good lord, blind leading the blind here.
You'll need to pick up at least a cheap external 3way xover to run the setup. One that will function off of one input.
You'll use a mini-plug to RCA adapter as suggested as an input to the xover. The over will supply 3 pairs of RCA outputs, and the xover points for the outputs (adjustable HP/LP). Run the outputs to your amps.
Done.

What other? EQ + Linedriver... that would be stupid. An EQ on adjust the LEVEL of certain individual frequencies (graphic) or a small range of frequencies (parametric). Not to mention more devices than necessary in the signal path is stupid.why would the other not work?
then for the moment since he will be running one amp, would it not work to just run from the mp3 directly to the amp and use onboard eq and the amp's hp?What other? Most xovers will have a level control (aka linedriver) built in, and they will properly CROSSOVER the audio signal... not just boost or cut certain frequencies.

thanks ngsmWhy would you need the onboard EQ.
And yes, if the amp has a sufficient HP filter then you can use it. Remember the slopes on them are very shallow usually.
Also, saywhat, I'd look into something like the Kicker KX3... pretty cheap and will do the job. Better than Lanzar //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
