Auxilary input vs. USB

On my Kenwood X591 I have usb and an Aux input. The USB is awesome. When I hook my Zune 80 into the Aux input though the sound isnt as loud as listening to USB or a CD. I turn the volume up all the way on my Zune and it still doesnt come close to equalling the sound volume of the others. Is this the way Aux inputs generally work?

I like the usefullness of USB. I ran a Creative Vision M for a year off a Aux in my car and it was a pain in the *** to change tracks while driving. With the USB, i get file info onscreen and get to use the HUs controls to make track changes, much safer and easier. Plus, the sound quality was much better through my USB.

I think the volume problem depends on the device, for example when I use my zen micro it sounds just like the cd with the same mp3 files on it but when i use my zen it is only maybe 70% as loud

Disclaimer- This is using aux
