I have tried many amps before and although i know for a fact that some of Maxxsonics' amps dont do rated power (from bench tests), i must say that their Autotek 1400.1D amp (last generation) was a fu@$ing beast. I had it bench tested at 1600 watts so in my opinion that amp isnt overated, just my 2 cents.

So your basis for saying its not junk is that it looks nice? Whats the fusing on your BXI2010d? I bet its about 160a. Its also not possible to create 2000 watts of power on 4 gauge wire. 4 gauge max is about 1500 watts. Which proves my exact point. Its over rated.

i read this thread because i seen whitedragon getting pissy. LOL. I just wanna go on record to say my thunder 801D (rated 500 watts @ 2 ohms) beat the living **** outta my tx1005d (rated 750@2 1000@1 ohms) , 500 watt mtx carried 75 amps of fuse , 1000 watt hifonics carried 60 amps of fuse. Wouldnt own a hifonics from this era spoken of in this thread if you paid me. LOL

Orly? I got an amp here that has dual #4 inputs that has clamped 10KW at 18V and another that will do 1800W and has single #4 inputs. I'm sure I've seen some very high output amps that have some rather small internal wires as well.

Ampacity is more dependent on length of the run over diameter of the conductor.

All that being said AFAIK most of the maxxonics stuff does close to rated power.

old thread was about old amps. I believe all the newer (mainly brutus and discus) maxxsonics amps do rated.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do. I'm running the DSC1500.1 and DSC4125 and feel they do every bit of rated.

who cares if thy are under rated. the price is unbeatable. Would you rather spend $750 for a 1500w kicker or $150 for a 2000 watt mean machine that puts out the same peak power. That's what you have to decide. maybe the kicker overheats less. id like to keep my $600 for the sacrifice
