automatic seat belt???

I got in a little finder binder a few days ago and i have a suby legacy wagon with the seatbelts that automatically go up and down when you open and close the door. After the incodent, they do not move. Does anyone know how to fix this? I liked this feature so a cop cant pull me for not wearing a seat belt, but now he can because it is stuck in the down or off position. Anyone know anything i can do besides manually move this object so that my seat belt is on? I tried to get that to make since.

I ran into the back of someone going about 20mph when i was going about 25mph so it wasnt bad and that was the only damage i would just like to attempt to fix it without paying a mechanic a bunch of money.

finder binder?

sounds like somthing shifted and binded up the rail the seatbelt rides on.... can you hear em try and move? also check for some blown fuses etc.

i had that happen to me (stuck auto-belt) and i never got it fixed.

wear the lap belt and coil up the shoulder belt out of the way?

or did Subaru tie em together?

no they are separate. They dont even try to move. But i also didnt check fuses. I dont think it would be the fuse though because why would the fuse blow when i bumped someone infront of me?

i have manually moved the mechanism (sp) to wear i can legally and safely wear the seat belt i would just like to have it automatic you know.

and both driver and passanger side seat belts broke im pretty sure

you think that when i got into this wreck they locked up and i may have to "reset" them some how? I am not going to pay money to get it fixed but i would really love to fix it!!! I looked for a loose wire from the battery or something, but everything is connected good.
