Is there a number for that...like 1 decible more is X times louder?Yes....Huge difference between 160 and 170. Remember kids Decibles are exponential...So going from 160-161 is louder than going from 136-137. The higher up you get...the bigger the steps get.
I believe that for every 3 dB increase, it sounds twice as loud.Is there a number for that...like 1 decible more is X times louder?
I'm willing to bet he was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifwhere you wearing ear protection?

I'm pretty sure that figure stays the same no matter what decible you are at.I think what he means is once you reach the higher levels, what dose 1 db equate to if in fact when you get higher, its a bigger step up.
Twice the accoustical power is required to have a theoretical increase of 3 dB.I believe that for every 3 dB increase, it sounds twice as loud.
