audison or zapco

Ok guys, here's the story.I've been out of the game for a while now but feel the need for some new sound in my daily driver. I have an alpine 9853 with the ipod interface currently running a set of boston pro 60's in the front and am considering going with a pair of image dynamics subs. I'm looking for a very clean sq system, clarity is my goal. I was looking at a $850 Zapco c2k 2.5 but recently came across an $650 Audison lrx 4.300. I have been told repeatedly that Zapco is a phenominal amp and Audison, while hard to get is second to none. Given the $200 price difference what do you guys think should do?Thanks in advance guys.

If the Audison has the power and features you need and cosmetics you enjoy; go for it. Both are phenominal amplifiers. You won't be dissappointed with either of them.

Cannot bridge the rear channels of the Audison LRX4.300...(if you thinking of doing that..).

I wasn't aware of that. Ok here's another question.Am I just being rediculous spending 6 - 9 hundered bucks on an amp when I could just get a pg or something for much less? Would I REALLY even see an audible difference in sq?

I think you get the idea. While they are great amps...they are most often chosen for their nice "warm, smooth" sound...at least that is what I like about them. I've had the LRx 4.300 and still own the LRx 2.500. In my opinion, you can get just as good for "way less". Some that come to mind....MB Quart RAA, Zed Audio Deuce, PPI PCX and DCX lines (not class-d's), Arc Audio XXK,....but again...that's "my opinion.

I appreciate the advice. While I don't mind spending the cash for good equipment, I want it to be justified.

Well, if you're going to drop that kinda cash...why not consider Helix, Genesis Dual Mono's, MB Quart Q-Series and Zapco C2K 6.0 30th Anniversary Series .? All those would be my consideration before the Audison LRx series. Now when you move up to the Audison VRx line, then you're a bit more justified.

Well, I already have Boston pro 60's in the front and was thinking either one image dynamics 10 or 2 8's. The amp would be for everything. BTW I appreciate your help.

You're exactly right...just checked. The version that I had could not. Looks like you're in good shape !

zapco all the way. amazing amps. even more incredable when you run a zapco EQ, with symbilink cables feeding the amps.
