I plan to get two 12" sdcs soon and I have a nice sketchup box design for them already. Problem I'm having is idk what the overall diameter is for them and the box's baffle is only 24.75" wide. Meaning anything over that will go into either the side or the inside port piece. Anyone know the OD of one or two of these off hand? Also i'm still not 100% sure about this setup so would two sdc2.5. 12"s in a 4.5ishcuft @ 36hz get louder off 1400wrms to the pair than a single hdc3 12" with around 1700wrms to it in a 2.5 cuft box @ 37 hz?

No one knows the overall diameter of a 12" sdc2.5? or rather the diameter from two mounting holes directly across from each other?

Basket OD=12.7, add .25 if you use basket gasket

Thanks alot DJ. Always there for your customers and that definitely sets you apart from most other companies. so this setup should be possible because there's gotta be atleast 1/4" from the outside of basket to the mounting hole which should make opposite screw holes about 12.2" from each other. On second thought I think I am just going to purchase the subs and build the box around that.

Sorry bout the 11 day old thread bump but...Does anyone have any opinions on whether two 12" sdc2.5s would take a saz-1500d at max unclipped power so about 1700-1800wrms? Or would i be better off getting one 12" hdc3 and try to keep my voltage higher to get 1800-2k wrms out of a saz-1500d?

Should not be a problem as long as your responsible with the gain. I would advise leaving the "bass boost" down and make sure you got your ssf set.

and with that power I'd do 4cubes net...

If you need more baffle you can add a cheater piece on the side the sub hangs over, so you have a flat surface to mount it to...
