audioque motor came apart

yup,just found that out.This should and im sure would have been covered under warranty by D.J. BUT i THOUGHT THE COILS WERE BURNT AND locked up.That was back in feb.So a few minutes ago i decided to cut the cone out and see what the damage was.well this would be my 1st attempt at a recone so i wasnt sure what i was looking at.I read the recone sticky on here and got to work.Well when I pulled the spider and cone and coil all out in 1 piece,i heard it scratch and it was hard to get out.Well it came out and the coils looked fine with the exception of a couple scatches on 1 side.So i looked down into the motor and it didnt look right.the center pole was pinned to the side of the basket pinching the coils.what had happened was the top plate that is threaded to mount the motor to the basket had come unglued from the rest of the motor.the only thing holding the motor on to the basket was the magnets.I pull the motor right off the basket and the plate is still screwed onto the basket.sorry no pics tonight,maybe tomorrow,and I will call D.J. and see what we can work out.Warrant was out in feb though.sucks that i let a great sub sit for 3 months before trying to do something with it only to find it was a manufacture defect.oh by the way,it is a 2007 model aq 2.5 15inch d4 sub.
