:fyi:So I was sick of not having any bass so I threw one of my new HDCs into a ported box I have laying around. I had also picked up a JBL BP1200.1 recently and I wanted to see if it worked so I threw it together in about an hour. I wasn't expecting much considering the box is tuned to 32HZ and it would only see about 1200 watts at 2 ohm. Well... these things are insane. This 1 15" is way louder and lower than any subs I have tried. My moonroof is flapping so bad I have to crack it to play full tilt. Sounds much better than my old DD 3515 and it had an Orion 2500d or an IA 20.1 on it. I can't wait to see what happens when I put in the other one and my 40.1:crazy: Things are falling off my interior and a few years worth of bugs came out of my domelights while playing Gorilla Zoe. THis is also the first system in my new MDX.

The only thing I have noticed is with tuning your box this low it will not play much above 50HZ. If you have a ton of midbas up front this won't be an issue, otherwise you may notice some things missing from the music.

Cliffs: threw a temp setup w/ HDC 15" in my car w/ 1200 watts. Extremely:veryhapp:

Be very careful with that low tuning...
DJ recommends tuning way above that.

I still gotta pick one of these up one day to play around with.
I am in the process of building a box for a pair of these that will be tuned higher. It almost sounds exaggerated on the low end tuned this low. I think tuning higher will blend better with my front stage anyway.

tuning low doesn't decrease bandwidth, the woofer wasn't designed to be tuned that low thats why its lacking... try a smaller box tuned to about 36... low Q high FS usualy means 4+ cubes tuned to 40+ but don't be scared to experment with it a bit.. 3.75 tuned to 36 should do nicely... subs just aren't very musical tuned that high.

They can be very musical tuned at 38-40Hz. Either your front stage can't keep up/blend properly or the box was on the small side which made it "peaky" sounding.
