Audioque 15's. Think I can give em some more power?

I built a new box today for my setup and was thinking,

"Why the hell am I only giving these puppies 500watts"

They are the Audioque SDC 2.5 15's, 2 of em, in a 10.4 cube box tuned to 38hz. Currently being run by a Cadence TXA 1000D.

I was thinking of buying a Power Akoustic a3000db (2300rms) and sending the subs somewhere in the region of 800-1000 each. DJ himself told me he was running a few on 1000, but Im curious to know how safe it would be and if anyone has any experience.

I know the audioque line has shown time and again they can take some serious power, but these obviously arent HD3's, and the new versions of the SD, the SDC's, are made in china.

Think itll be noticably louder? Or am I pushing it

Yeah its completed other than i forgot to drill a hole for the terminal wires, just outside actually drying, painted it black (didnt feel like wrapping another box in leather and black is stealth) and asphault siliconed the heck out of it

Just deciding if I should simply use the 500rms / woofer again, or if I should go bigger and waste some tax return money

Just curious if Id even notice a difference going from 500rms to 800ish or a little more?

I rarely bump the crap out of the system and mostly listen to loud *** rock and just like the kick drums but sometimes I put on some bass songs and I like some rap and so do my friends.

Just curious if there will be an audible gain or not ya no, cause $250 could go towards something else if its better suited elsewhere

(New Power / Old Power)log*10 = change in dB (without taking compression into account)
So in your case...

(1600 / 1000)log*10 = 2.04 dB

That is the maximum gain you will see from the power increase you describe, but it will likely be less after taking compression into account... and you will only see that change at full volume.

well my last box wasnt the greatest and im sure its build quality was hurting me.... hope I get atleast a couple dbs outta it.

Anyone have more opinions on how much power I should try and give them reliably
