Audiopulse LMS Ultra, is it worth the money?

Well 5000 watts is approx 350 amps, at 100% efficiency, which it wouldn't be. The batts would help that drain from killing the system voltage for a while, but the end result would eventually be the same.
edit: Seriously, where do you guys come from? You want to buy a $1200 sub, have well over a grand in the amplifiers, but aren't willing to spend a few hundred on a H.O. alternator to power it all. The logic astounds me.

I think its because it doesn't retain its value as easily, plus all the horror stories with them not working/hardly working/etc

Personally I'd probably be best off just paying someone to install one for me and be out that money, (due to my alt's location/almost zero access) plus its not exactly easy to sell a HO alt for say 75% what you paid for it, whereas I have no problem buying subs/amps because I know I can sell them back for a good chunk of what I paid, hell...especially on subs, half or more of your loss when you resell amps/subs is often due to the cost of shipping it, not because of the value it lost by being used

Then again, I have under 700 bucks of audio in my car, if I had a few thousand, yea a HO alt would definitely be a part of it

With two 2500's on one of those, your main problem will be keeping the sub together and not the coil frying.

its cuz a ho alt seems like a boring upgrade. you cant see it and it deosnt really seem to do anything cool or exciting.

Right, but when you buy a used sub for 200 bucks, and then decide to do something different in a month, you can sell that sub for almost 200 bucks..obviously it varies with different subs/demand at the time for subs

If I were to buy a car brand new that I knew I'd be driving for the next 5 years+ I'd have no problem buying a HO alt, as well as making a ton more changes that are car-specific and can't easily be resold.

At least thats the situation I'm in...when a HO alt will cost 1/4 of my car, and isn't easily recoverable, I find it hard to justify. If I buy a HO alt I'm doing so with the mindset its money I'm not ever planning on getting back, but when I'm buying subs/amps its with the mindset that I can always sell it and recover most of my money

hahaha...yeah I'm not a big fan of audiopulse at all.....but was that cone aluminum? Cuz now they are titanium I believe and whats the differance between the 5200 and the TI PRO?

The titanium cones do it too, just not as quickly. but they do exhibit the same "voice coil tattoo" eventually.

that cone was never supposed to be put on that sub, that was just a test cone, way too thin. The new new cones are composite making them a lot a lot stronger...

its not even the same cone or driver for that matter, in fact that was a prototype driver that Deon instructed Rydzewski to test and report back under an signed NDA and since then he has used it to hurt TC Sounds... people are evil, what you can do.

not to threadjack, but would you need an upgraded alt with 2000 watts rms? Or would an upgraded battery be enough?
