Roommate punched a hole through old school RE XXX while trying to install it

For some crazy reason I let him screw it in, and he slipped and punched the screwdriver through the surround. What is crazy is this thing literally came back today freshly reconed and we were sticking it in, now it has to go right back to Fi. Is this going to need a recone I am assuming, or do you guys think they can just replace the surround with out reconing the whole thing?

Not really, It can be reconned if you want to sell it or if the buyer wants.

Mostly people buy those so they can get the motor and basket if they are in good condition.

It all depends on the buyer, if they are picky bout things like that. You probably wont be able to get the money you want out of it though...

patch it for now while you're using it and recone it when you're ready to sell it.. you can sell it as freshly reconed and unused..
