Now, speaking with a lot of bias towards any subwoofer manufacturer, a couple of customers have came into my shop and showed me "Audiopipe" sub woofers. Looking puzzled after first seeing this brand, one wanted me to make an enclosure for 1 12 " TXXAP. So using MY FORMULA after receiving the specs of this odd sub, I had one that was perfect, built the day before. He drove a 2000 Tahoe. I didn't invert the sub (which i usually do for most of my customers), so I just put it in a pre-fab box and I asked him if he liked how it looked (I did not have the same color carpet that was in the rear, I believe I was a couple shades darker) and he loved it. All the same, I connected the sub with his equipment. I bit my tongue before, but I had to ask "Where the hell did you get this sub??", he answered me in Indiana. I noticed before he had a Mono 500 Memphis D and he actually was persistant that I connect it and check it out. I shrugged, very skeptical about this alien woofer, and connected it to new 4 G power and 6 G ground (couldn't reach the sub with previous ground) and 10 G speaker wires. I then told him to get in as I turned the gain all the way down. He had the old Chronic in and I started to turn the gain up slowly. Before I knew it, I looked at the gain and realized I was to my stopping point (I do not turn the gain up more than 2/3 up, if my customer wants to blow their subs, than that is on them) and it was picking up a great signal and had great range. It didn't even reach look like it reached its X point and it was booming so good that the doors and tools shook in my garage. He came back and saw it was only my 2/3s and he then cranked it up. Though there was a difference, it couldn't have been too much more of bump.
After I finished the job and he left, I closed up and got on my computer and found its website. Not much... actually, it looked really outdated. Regardless, does anyone own
and if so, would you recommend this equipment?? I saw that the TXXAP models were expensive and carried a decent OHM load. I only get the best for my shop (usually Cerwin, Eclipse, JL, and SOMETIMES Audiobahn) and wonder if anyone WITH KNOWLEDGE OF PRODUCT would say that this brand is better than Audiobahn???
