OK guys, ill admit it, i took a little beak from car audio. Ive been back at it for about a year now and some things have really changed. We all know some of our favorite old school brands have questionable product lines if not the whole brand, no need to name them all, we could be here for a while. Most of the time i feel like you get what you pay for and this hobby, more like lifestyle for some, can get pretty expensive. I have seen a few people recommend Audiopipe. I never say anything because i refuse to comment on something i havent seen or used myself. I actually heard an SUV with two vented TXX-BD12's being powered by an AP-18001D. I cant believe im about to say this, and i know install always matters, but this SUV sounded really good. It wasnt just a lot of loud and muddy bass. Dont get me wrong, it was really loud, but it sounded really nice too. This poor guys buddy just spent probably 3 times as much on a 1000 watt kicker and 2 square 12's, from the same shop / same installer and the Audiopipe setup just out-preformed it. Is this a fluke? Did this guy just get lucky or am i wrong about Audiopipe? I never wouldve believed those amps would do close to rated power. If you have any experience with Audiopipe please comment. Are these amps really cheap, reliable, actual rated power?

ive read they are power hungry. is this the case or are they just not built great. id almost understand given the price point...
I mean any 1500+ rms amp is going to be power hungry. The build quality of audio pipe isn't all that great honestly. You can open one up and compare it to a similar rated high end amp and see the difference. I'd rather just save money and buy a good solid amp then have keep replacing a lesser quality amp.

i completely understand. ive never bought anything like the audiopipe. i like to show off my equipment in my installs and id have a hard time flush mounting an audiopipe amp. i was just curious after hearing that vehicle. its not such a good deal if you have to replace it.
