At the maximum a 3db gain would happen from doubling a factor, like power or cone area. From 2k to 4k I'd definaty safely say a .8-1.2 db increase would happen..

L =10log (P/Pref)

P=new power

Pref= original power

10 log(3000 / 2000) = 1.76091259 dB's before power compression, etc.

Exactly. So throwing that out there is useless. Lol. I've seen +1 from a 10% bump. I've seen +2.7 from 1ohm to .25. I've seen +.5 from 7k to 14k. Blah, blah, blah.

Actually... It's useful because it give you a mathematical reasoning behind adding more power and what you could expect. I used this same formula in my car when I switched from 5 to 6k.. and guess what.. It was about right... Your cars acoustics will change everything and anything.. With anything this does not guarantee you anything but it gives you a good basis of what can happen. This formula is from one of the best acoustical engineers out there who knows more than you would ever know.. So Just sayin'

I gurantee he doesn't know more about my car than I do. He can engineer acoustics until he's blue in the face, but I've proven his little formula wrong just about everytime I test.

Oh snap. Same woofers and vehicle? What were the numbers? Or is this the ear meter?

Same woofers lower ohm load and was still louder I had one apsm at one ohm on each sub and it was nice for what was paid but t2000 is louder to my ears not even close

Don't get me wrong audiopipe has it's place but after owning all of the aspm models and all the ap models I don't think I'll ever be going back I hear good things about the apk models tho
