Audiocontrol Overdrive Question

Alright, I need more volts to my amps badly. I know I need a line driver but I really have no clue how they work. Basically, all I need to know is how to connect them and how many volts they will be giving my amp. The overdrive is cheapest, thats why Im looking into it. I read in denims review it made a huge difference. I just want to know how to connect the Overdrive system so I can understand where it gives me the extra volts.

Thanks.

It has controls on the unit that allow you to increase or decrease the out going voltage and most units have LED's so you can see the real signal being sent to your amps.

stock hu levels are inadequate most the time arent they?? hell i replaced mine and the one i replaced it with wasnt good enuf so i replaced it yet again and now im happy

My stock output only does around 5v instead of 12v. I need something to boost up the volt level, would a Audiocontrol Overdrive do?

Does your amp really take 12volts of input, for Signal???

What headunit and amp(s) are u running????

But to answer your question:

Its Simple..

Your RCAs or interconnects that come out of the head unit and connect to your amp currently, would got to the inputs on the Linedriver and its outputs would go to the amps inputs...

To anser your question about ""how many volts they will be giving my amp???""

It depends on the model, you use and how you adjust it... I reall recomend going to say, Audiocontrol's web page and reading the .pdfs on their gear. It will show you exact diagrams as well as tell you how to adjust it for what levels... Hope this helps..

I wonder if he is mixing stuff up...

I mean, talking abou the head units signal output level vs. the amps Power/voltage input, not the amps RCA/Signal input....

Daniel, you said""My stock output only does around 5v instead of 12v. I need something to boost up the volt level""

How do you know what your head unit is putting out and what your amp requires...

We will all assure you though, 5 volts from a h/u on the rca preouts all you will ever need to get a good clean signal to your amp. if it was 2 volts or in some cases that ive seen even 1.8 volts then I could understand but anything above 5 volt preouts wont get you anything really. Just better signal transmission with less noise interference.
